A new spot was opened in Rosemary Square this season by chef Jeremy Bearman whose New York restaurant Rouge Tomate earned a Michelin star, and his wife Cindy, formerly pastry chef at ABC Kitchen. The initial menu was varied and bursting with flavors, offering such selections as big eye tuna poke with sesame, sweet onion, Asian pear, cashew and creamy yuzukosho. For now there is a focus on comfort food with one family meal offered nightly that starts with a soup or salad and goes on to a dish like roasted chicken dumplings with peas, carrots and watermelon salad with chili, mint, and lime.

The Boca location is offering takeout, and much of the food is vacuum sealed to extend its refrigerator shelf life. Among the standout dishes: butternut squash soup; a “namaste’’ raw salad; quinoa meatballs with spaghetti squash, spinach and tomato basil sauce; and beef short ribs with Brussels sprouts; maple whipped sweet potatoes and mushroom Bordelaise. Family sized packages of such dishes as stir fried vegetables and vegetarian paella are also available, and desserts run the gamut from chia pudding to key lime pie.

While many restaurants are having trouble getting fish at all, this Hellenic favorite in Ft Lauderdale is still serving up local catches, as well as sweet oversized tiger shrimp, wood-grilled lamb chops, marinated chicken breast skewered on rosemary, and NY strip. Sides include roasted fingerling potatoes or Brussles sprouts, and salads, from Greek to fennel and arugula with orange, are bountiful. The restaurant itself is so beautiful, make sure to return when it fully reopens.
