While many see Homestead as not much more than a few exits off the end of the Florida Turnpike on the way to The Keys, the area is much more than that. The southernmost neighborhood in Miami-Dade is actually home to some unexpectedly tasty hidden gems. While it’s a significant trek from Wynwood and South Beach where most of the action happens, that’s part of what makes Homestead charm so uniquely its own. So clear a day in the calendar and make the journey down south, because there’s plenty of eating to be done.

Editor’s Note: A number of South Florida restaurants have resumed indoor and outdoor dining services. However, this should not be taken as endorsement for onsite dining, as there are still safety concerns: for updated information on coronavirus cases in your area, please visit the Florida Health Department’s website. Studies indicate that there is a lower exposure risk when outdoors, but the level of risk involved with patio dining is contingent on restaurants following strict social distancing and other safety guidelines.
