Blue Collar

A proper comfort food eatery in Florida would be remiss to not have a key lime pie on its menu, and Blue Collar’s variation is one of the best because it has a homemade touch. And reason for that is because it is actually homemade from scratch by Meghan Perkins, wife of one of the restaurant’s biggest fans, Billy Corben.

The key lime pie at dbakers is as beautiful as it is tasty. Made with fresh key limes, a graham cracker crust, and it’s piled high with a burned Italian meringue that helps create the perfect ratio of sweet to tart.

Fireman-turned-baker Derek Kaplan has quickly become the king of Miami’s pie bourgeoning pie scene. And the star of his pie menu? The Florida favorite key lime pie — that features a homemade graham cracker pie crust and key lime juice flavored filling — that can be purchased both at his Wynwood and Coconut Grove stores and local spots around town like La Cameronera.

Aside from its popular breakfast, the other thing this Sunset Harbour eatery is known for: its pies. (Oprah even praised them years back.) Icebox’s 9” deep dish key lime pie serves up a combo of sweet and tangy, topped with fresh whipped cream makes it a standout in a sea of pies.

Joe's Stone Crab

Almost as iconic as its namesake stone crabs is Joe’s key lime pie — but that hasn’t always been the case. According to legend it actually started as a mix up when a Chicago food critic in the '50s mistakenly mixed up the key lime pie he had at another restaurant with Joe’s then apple pie offering. But the error caused for a flood of requests, and the rest is history.

B Bistro + Bakery
