Santa Diabla

Folks in Miami Lakes have their own newly opened speakeasy by the team behind Chela’s. A Catalan-style social club that serves martinis and tapas, Santa Diabla is a reservation-only spot open until 3 a.m., located within the same space as Chela’s. Still, one step inside and guests are engulfed in a completely different vibe. Dark, moody, and sexy, this is where the cocktails flow, and it’s easy to lose track of time.

Bar Kaiju

Godzilla in cocktail form? That’s what’s on the menu at Bar Kaiju — along with nearly a dozen other mystical monsters found around the world. Head to the second floor of the Citadel in Little River and follow the monster stickers on the ground to a semi-hidden red-lit bar by Derek Stilmann. The cocktail menu is designed in graphic novel form, with a page dedicated to each cocktail and the creature that inspired it.

Not quite a bar, but definitely worth a mention, Kojin is a sake lounge hidden behind Little River’s ramen hotspot, Hachidori, past a heavy curtain and into a cozy space meant for sake sipping or dining via a “secret” omakase experience. This speakeasy is intimate and small, featuring a counter and a couple of couches able to fit about 14 people at a time, making it feel like a super exclusive experience.

Dante's HiFi

While this might not be a secret, per se, this bar is definitely off the beaten path. Dante’s HiFi is a mecca for music lovers that features a cozy bar with walls of vinyls and a highball-style cocktail menu perfect for sipping and grooving all night long.

There’s no cover and plenty of tacos to help soak up the alcohol that isn’t danced off in the wee hours of the night.
