Celebration of Beer, a Goose Island Beer Co. tradition, arrives in South Florida with a party at Corg and Stogi — home of the closest wine, beer, and cigars to Cuba — on Monday, October 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. Some of the brewery’s most treasured and rare beers will leave Chicago to make a special appearance at the event. Migration Week gets a little less laid back when it leaves the Keys for the Kick-Off Party in Miami on Tuesday, October 13, from 7 to 10 p.m. Join the Goose Island team at Cuban Crafters as they kick off Miami Migration Week with music, local food, and hand-rolled cigars. Rare Goose beers will be served, including Bourbon County Stout and BCS Vanilla Rye, plus there’ll be some very unique raffle prizes.

On Thursday, October 15, from 3 to 5 p.m., it’s time to Meet the Brewer. Goose Island’s Bjorn Johnson will be at Mega Liquors to talk about his delicious beers, and I’ll also announce the winner of Miami Migration Week social-media photo contest. He’ll be offering a whole bunch of Goose Island’s Bourbon County Stouts, including BCS 2014, BCS Coffee, BCS Barleywine, and BCS Vanilla Rye.

It doesn’t get much better than dessert for dinner, unless you pair some of Goose Island’s amazing and rare beers with those dessert courses. Come join the Migration Week team as they host a Sweets and Sours event at Boxelder on Thursday, October 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. The event will be a casual, but the beers and desserts will not.
There’ll be more Bourbon County Stouts to drink at another Celebration of Beer, at Kush on Thursday, October 15, from 9:30 to 11:30 p.m. The Goose Island team will be bringing more of their treasured beers on a rare trip south from Chicago.

At the grand opening of Total Wine & Spirits on Friday, October 16, the Goose Island Migration Week team will be on hand to talk shop, sample great beers, and give away some fantastic prizes. Brewer Bjorn Johnson will be on hand from 3 to 6 p.m., with plenty of Bourbon County Stouts.

The Goose Island team is coming to sunny Florida, and they’re going to want to go fishing. They’re serious about supplying the freshest beer to the market, so they figured they’d apply the same passion to dinner. For the first-ever Migration Week Catch, Cook, and Consume Beer Dinner, the team will head out to sea Friday, October 16, to hook dinner, which will then be prepared by their friends at R House. Come out from 7 to 9 p.m. for some fresh fish and fresh Goose Island beers. Call R House for a reservation.
