The SLS’ swanky Bar Centro is still the place to see and be seen. They’ve got a mean cocktail bar, too, and one badass bartender named Hillary Choo a.k.a. Eater’s 2012 Bartender of the Year. Plus they also fool around with chemical elements, airs and caviars.
These guys grow their own fruits (like lemons, strawberries and oranges) and herbs to be used in a variety of popular-among-the-hipsters, avian-themed libations. Go forth and play board-games, “Flipping the Bird” in one hand, “Red-Footed Booby” in the other – no one’s going to judge your habits at this laid back bar.
The Bar Lab boys are timeless, which is why, even a year later, they’re still considered some of Miami’s hottest cocktail dudes. To top it off they’re at Broken Shaker, a James Beard Award-nominated bar where you can sip on spiced up, syrupy, herb-infused cocktails and feel eco-friendly while at it – everything’s from their garden.
The vested-up bartenders in this quaint corner bar are shaking things up in new and traditional ways. You’ll find the spot packed with all sorts of libation-lovers sipping on classic cocktails like the Sazerac with bulleit rye, peychaud’s, absinthe and bitters or “nouveaux” options like The Aristocrat with hendriks gin, cucumber, lemon and sage.
This Wynwood bar is where the local/artsy crowd flocks to daily. It’s full of friendly bartenders who’ll make a killer cocktail at a fairly reasonable price. You can play boules there too, and, since to make imbibing easier you need greasy things, the Ms. Cheezious food truck is oft parked right outside.

The age of molecular recipes is upon us and HaVen’s at the forefront. Go here and imagine what the future will be like. A few Pop Drops should help teleport you to a different dimension – they come with a frozen-liquid-nitrogen vodka popsicle and trippy puffs of smoke.
Living Room has remained hot as ever. Surely it didn’t hurt that west-coast mixologist Scott Beattie (Goose & Gander) came on board to concoct some new cocktails. Ask for something funky like a Jalapeno Passion, take a seat on that white couch and relax.
The 50 Eggs Group’s newest member is PatPong, a self-proclaimed “Bangkok Chic” bar that sits right above Khong River House ready to hand out some interesting after-hours libations. Have the guys there whip you up a Stupid Filthy Dirty Martini or ask them to Pat That for you. But definitely try the cocktail in a bag thing because, who else is doing that?
This ode to the 40’s classic cocktail lounge is home to the some of Miami’s best mixologists including recently award Most Imaginative Bartender of the Year, Julio Cabrera. Here’s where you’ll get a legit Manhattan, or legit everything-you-can-dream-of for that matter. If you can’t decide on a drink, name some fruits and herbs you like – they’ll whip you something up.
The Surfcomber Hotel’s trendy cocktail den is one of SoBe’s more laid back, easygoing spots. Ask them for whatever you want - they’ve got plenty to work with and they’re always up to mix something tasty. P.S. Foosball goes great with cocktails.
